OneStreet was selected as the Master Developer for the redevelopment of the 56-acre Johnson Ferry East public housing project in the heart of unincorporated DeKalb County, which ultimately became the incorporated City of Brookhaven. Work started on this multi-phase redevelopment in 2005 and completed in 2014, creating a mixed-income, mixed-use district which includes:
- 389 mixed-income senior apartments
- 335 market-rate apartments
- 95 market rate single-family homes and townhomes
- 50,000 square feet of retail
- A 4-acre public park
- Newly constructed streets, utilities, and signalized intersection
Brookleigh represents a truly mixed-income redevelopment district with 724 newly constructed apartments comprising 44% affordable residences and 56% market-rate residences.
HearthSide Brookleigh was the third phase of the redevelopment effort and is a mixed-income community of 121 1- & 2-bedroom senior apartments. OneStreet remains a co-General Partner with the HADC; while serving as Property Manager.
